Great for people and pets!
Bright orange, big and round, pumpkins are the fruit of the season! Not only are the delicious (especially in pie or latte form) they have lots of health benefits for you and your pets.
Digestion: Diarrhea is not really a fun topic, but it happens sometimes. Pumpkin is great for firming up stool and promoting regularity. Just a tablespoon at each meal will do it. Pumpkin also works for constipation because it contains loads of fiber!
Vitamins: Pumpkin is full of vitamins. Vitamin C, Vitamin E, phosphorous, and potassium are found in abundance in pumpkin. It is also a great source of fiber (why it works for digestive issues) If you are looking to give your pet a little vitamin boost, a spoon of pumpkin on top will do it.
Hydration: Many people feed their pet strictly dry food. It is convenient but it can lead to urinary tract issues. Because pumpkin is mostly water, adding some to your pet’s diet can promote hydration and a healthy urinary tract.
If you don’t want to take the time to cut up a fresh pumpkin, canned is a good substitute. Make sure you don’t get pumpkin pie filling! That has extra sugar and spices in it.
